white chocolate oreo peanut butter

Full disclosure, everyone: I'm in the throes of law school finals, which means a couple of things. First, that diet I pretended I was on is no longer relevant. I am open and proud of my gluttony. Two, more baked goods, desserts, and artery-clogging meals to make the misery go down easier. Third, being cracked out for the next two weeks means less talky-talky from me and more food porn in its place.

Which brings us here. A recipe that is less an actual recipe than an excuse to put on an elastic-waisted sweatsuit.

Oreos happily crushed with a wooden spoon and crumbled atop dollops of creamy peanut butter...

White chocolate chips with a spoonful of peanut butter melting over a double boiler...

Dribbling in the stream of white chocolate...

Folding the chunky marbled mess together...

Before spooning it into a waiting mason jar.

I made this with the girl I babysit, who is an Oreo and peanut butter fanatic like you would not believe. Her favorite after school snack is an Oreo taken apart, enhanced with a fat smear of peanut butter, and then put back together. She labeled this Peanut Trap Peanut Butter. (I had to Google that reference because I was tiger-mommed out of that one).

We celebrated our achievement with a Frankenstein creation - an Oreo topped with Oreo peanut butter.

A spoonful of this will bring almost anyone to their knees. Give it to your deserving mom next week, a friend you secretly would like to see fat, or your law school professors to con your way to a passing grade.

white chocolate oreo peanut butter - recipe from Picky Palate

10 Oreos
1 cup white chocolate chips
2 cups +2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

Crush Oreos into small pieces. (Put them in a Ziploc bag and go at them with your weapon of choice - wooden spoon, rolling pin, fists.) Put in a big bowl and add the two cups of peanut butter.

Create a double-boiler by filling a medium size saucepan with 2 inches of water. Bring the water to a simmer, and place a glass or metal bowl with the white chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on top of the pot. Stir until melted and smooth.
Drizzle into Oreo mixture, combine, and spoon into a jar. Or straight to your face.
